An Update at Long Last

Ok, since we weren't sure exactly what was going to get grown where we have not felt comfortable throwing out to many promises or prices. Now however.....

We are working with some great farmers in the Alanson area (thanks Bob and Maggie Wanner!) and Chestnut Lane Farms North is up and running. We have a great deal of this years produce either in the ground or about ready for planting. Our organic certification application is in process at MOSA and we are looking forward getting our inspections completed.

The apple trees at our main Frankfort location appear to have made it through the frosts and after a non producing year in 2008 we are looking forward to a good harvest. The Frankfort location is also planting three different seed stock crops for one of the Midwest's largest seed retailers.

Crops currently growing at the north location include (please note that, for many reasons, our crop list has changed. Seed and plant availability, weather and other factors make it a very fluid process. We will notify you as soon as we can as to what will be available and when.)

Now that the bulk of the planting is done we will have more time to update the blog with photos, recipes and other great information! Until next time, have a great day and stay safe.
